The RNs, nurse aides, chaplain, social worker, doctors and everyone else we interacted with was helpful and present. We liked how easy they made it to stay overnight, how they answered all our questions patiently, and how they checked in on Dad 24/7.My heart hurts for the negative experiences some people have posted about. Carpenter House has a respite care section and a hospice section for people who are close to death (not just for those who have six months to live, but those who are days away). It is normal for people to stop eating and drinking at the end of life, and it is respectful of their dignity to not force-feed them -- but I imagine it can be extremely jarring if people are not aware of what is happening.
